I mean, does it? Remember that all of this was from Starlight’s fears, and she does not know Celestia very well at all. Starlight fearing that something could happen does not necessarily mean that it could, and even if it does, the concept of Daybreaker existing does not prove that there is an actual possibility for it to be actually called forth, let alone under circumstances where Celestia chooses it.

Yeah, though from what I hear the negative world AU characters didn’t show up much in the comic. Funny how that idea of an “evil parallel world with darker versions of the main characters” has been a common trope in comics for so long. Even the Sonic series did it with Evil Sonic/Scourge the Hedgehog, and his gang from Anti-Mobius/Moebius.

I forgot about Sunset and Gloriosa, but yes, they too kind of fall in that same situation. It’s interesting to see how they all line up like that.
 
And I’d be interested to see your design. Evil Cadance doesn’t seem to be all that much of a thing, outside of the comic version of course.  
 
But maybe people just assume love devouring Chrysalis is already enough of an evil Cadance that another isn’t needed.

That’s very well thought-out, and interesting. As you say their super evil forms seem to represent their repressed darker sides, and desires. This also seems reflected in the EqGirls villains too like Sunset’s & Gloriosa’s super evil forms too. Sunset wanted popularity,leadership, and power. Gloriosa wanted to save Camp Everfree, and easily manage the camp, but went overboard.

You know, in regards to their personalities, I keep wondering if the way they act while evil is the result of whatever dark desire fueled the transformation in the first place. Nightmare Moon, born out of Luna’s desire for the same level of appreciation as her sister, is every bit an attention craving tyrant. She uses grandiose language, her first appearance usurps an event meant to honor her sister, and she seems angriest about having been forgotten (especially with her whole “does my crown no longer matter?” comment). Midnight Sparkle comes from a personality that dislikes being pushed around combined with a great desire to know more, and is appropriately consumed by a desire for power and understanding, no matter who or what gets destroyed in the process. And Daybreaker, it could be argued, is a manifestation of Celestia’s frustration with having to make deals and negotiate and follow the rules and be perfect all the time. So her evil side chews scenery like some unholy combination of William Shatner and Emperor Palpatine, and revels in the freedom of having no restrictions or need for anyone else.
 
So for Cadance going evil (I do like the name Heartbreaker by the way), we need to answer the question of what it is she longs for; what selfish desire she may have. To the best of my recollection there has only really been one time she mentioned something like that, and then her desire was adventure outside the boring confines of the Empire. Not really a dark secret, but if it speaks to an occasional wish she was free of the love that keeps her from leaving or risking her life on quests, then perhaps her nightmare form literally would be a creature that dissolves the emotional bonds between loved ones.
 
Something to think about at least.

There’s lots of Sonic & Pony OCs like that.  
I remember a girl whom hated Amy Rose alot, ironically had her main fan-character basically just be literally a yellow Amy. (Seriously, her whole DA page was nothing, but recolored “Sonic X” anime screenshots.) People really confuse me.

I like how even Celestia was scared to think she could possibly become that. Daybreaker even rubs it in.  
This might be the best episode of the season so far, and it’s nice to finally have one after so many seasons kinda focusing on the royal sisters. (In fact, Celestia has never had any episode focus before. Aside from the comic canon.)

I cannot express the full extent of my joy that this character exists. Besides just being an amazing design and personality, it shows that Celestia is far from perfect and could turn to the dark side if given enough reason.
 
Woe be a world where such evil lurks in the heart of those in power that they can simply become Eldritch abominations within minutes.

Think opposite of Midnight.

Kinda a nice touch her attitude is the opposite of Nightmare Moon’s. Instead of dark & brooding, she’s hammy, smug, and happy.
 
We have Nightmare Moon, Midnight Sparkle, and now Daybreaker.  
What would Cadance’s evil form be? (Heartbreaker?)
