Due to the presence of a Second Reich German in this picture, among the other men in it, I can conclude this is set in some alternate timeline where World War I played out more to Germany’s favor, and due to this Nazism never really becomes a thing.

The German guy is WWI no fucking way I’m getting a Wehrmacht or SS in this friendly situation. Japanese guy is also Cold War, Soviet guy is cold war and Ba’athist is Cold War. German WWI soldier is chosen because his uniform looks close to the East German cold war one, but without looking like an SS uniform. (East German uniforms are mix of WWWI and WWII eras). West Germany is too borring in appearance.

Dahm Russia moved fast. I’ll always be amazed at how they were able to take catastrophic losses with the background of purges,underdevelopment and economic mismanagement and still managed to not only survive but end up an undisputed superpower in the end and give decisive kicks to the Axis powers when they were down.
 
Of course they were hardly stable at the end and had they managed to get the land Stalin wanted they probably would have deeply over extended themselves and wound up with massive unrest. And I still Think that had the U.S. not intervened and forced The Germans to constantly react to the allies,that the Soviets would have collapsed eventually.

The western front was still minuscule compared to the East. Besides, Britain would have eventually found a way through without USA. USA did an amazing job cutting down the war a few years however. Ironically the cold war would be much shorter if they just let the Soviets take even more of a beating against Germany.

We gave them 130 billion dollars in supplies and D-day really helped what with detracting half the German army away from the eastern front.

There is no chance Stalin would have taken Japan. But my point is that he could have made them give up by bleeding them dry, which would put them under his influence or at least let Stalin influence the rest of East Asia. I read that the soviets were obliterating Japs in Manchuria,many soviet officers were shocked at the sheer recklessness of the Imperial troops as they launched human wave tactics in desperation. But still I Can’t Imagine the soviets invading the Japaneses home islands and it not being a complete disaster.
 
The Russians had little development in eastern Siberia and a small fleet there as well. They never would have been able to launch an invasion that would have successfully gotten past Japaneses defenses,the allies with their far greater naval power and experience at Naval invasion knew it would be a blood bath,no way the soviets would have been able to do anything meaningful. Not to mention the Imperialist Culture of Japan was far more ideologically opposed to the soviet communism then they were to the allies,so converting them politically to communism would have been difficult if not outright impossible.
 
So realistically I don’t think Stalin would have been able to Really conquer any part of japan proper. You could say they dropped the bomb to deny the soviets and maybe the some U.S. officials really did fear the soviets might interfere in Japan but I think other factors played in their use far more than the soviet almost invading japan.

Lend Lease didn’t do as much as we think. Also, America did D-Day and dropped nukes to deny the Soviets the regions of West Europe and Japan before they inevitably got to them. Stalin was calling for an American’s to do another front, but once it was clear he had the chance to take two vital areas, the west had to step in.
 
The war would be MUCH longer however. That is a given.

When the he Hoviet Union keeps saying that they didn’t need America’S help in WW2.
