At one point, I’d sympathize with his plight, especially since the damage was irreversible. However, that doesn’t change the fact that she endangered Alice and possibly the rest of Equestria with Hirudo being here.

it’s true, discord is to blame for maretonia being doomed to an icy grave.
 
hirudo is also to blame, because if discord had been there, the windigoes would have stayed away, or if they wouldn’t he could have dismissed his magic on a wim.
 
oh and the windigoes. they’re to blame too, considering they are the ones who murdered everypony.
 
then there’s sephiroth there. he and his friends are to blame, for not being good enough friends to defeat the windigoes.
 
also the citizens of maretonia are to blame. discord was likely to make them bark like a dog, or float around with a propellor beanie, but the only ponies who ever hated others were ones he didn’t curse.
