I’m fairly partial to Underworld. Partly because it’s likely the only vampire series I’ve ever watched, which is presumably cheating, so, never mind. XD

a.) A vampire must drink blood at least once per month though the specific date is irrelevant. Blood to a
vampire is like nectar to a bee and has been described as the most delicious meals, both
imaginable and unimaginable. Still, vampires can eat mundane food, even including meats like their
often mistaken counterparts, the bat ponies.

The vampires must drink blood, or else they will go on what is known as a bloodlust. It is when a
vampire loses its control of sanity, and they will attack whoever they can for blood. This can last for
hours, and the vampire must be contained before innocent life is killed or else the vampire must be
destroyed. Coincidently, there is a similar effect were a vampire has had too much blood and goes
into a drunken-like stupor called blood toxism. In this case, the vampire behaves much, if not
exactly, like a drunk, only instead of wanting more alcohol they want more blood before passing
out.

b.) It’s actually painful, there is no way to make it pleasant

c.) There is a twenty percent chance of working and turning a pony into a vampire. Sixty percent of the time the body will fail to accept it and be an instant death for the pony. The final twenty percent will turn the pony into what is known as a ghoul. A ghoul is an unwilling slave that obeys its biter until death. In the old days, before the First Congregation of the New Moon, (and after the Nightmare Wars until the Second Congregation seven hundred years later) it was normal for a vampire family to have over dozens of these ghouls. Ghouls have no will of their own, and they only live to serve their masters. It is now illegal to own
ghouls and any poor soul turned into one is to be given a merciful death.

d.) They have direct control of it

e.) Yes there is a hierarchy, the older the more powerful

Questions for author:

A.) Do vamponies need blood to survive, or do they simply crave blood like a drug-addict in withdrawal. How much blood does a vampony need to ingest in order to feel satiated, and how often do they feed?

B.) Does a vampony’s bite have a “kiss” effect (AKA VtM/WoD)? In other words, is the blood draining process ecstatic or horribly painful. Are they able to cloud their victims’ minds to mask their presence in the world.

C.) Can vamponies create lesser servants like ghouls, and if yes, what forms do they take?

D.) Does a vampony’s sire have direct, indirect, or no control over it?

E.) Do vamponies have a hierarchy wherein the oldest vamponies are stronger than more recently embraced vamponies (AKA VtM/WoD)? If there is no hierarchy, but there are differences in strength, what determines the difference?
