@Ihhh
Hehe, I was mostly thinking about those AMD vs Nvidia memes that would take a screen cap from a episode and compare it against a really well drawn scene interpretation from a well known artist.
I personally would love it if when the PC version of the MLP movie comes out, if it had a full array of graphics adjustment settings, like resolution, bloom, ambient occlusion, depth, anti aliasing and hell why not enable SLI for a movie as well?
German trailer looks way better. Seriously, the extra shadows and weird contrast makes the US trailer look awful. They didn’t even uploaded the video with the correct ratio.
From what I can tell, except for small differences you literally have to do a freeze frame side-by-side comparison to notice, these two are the effectively the same.
Unless there is a significant model replacement any changes will be unnoticeable except to those who go to the effort to find them.
From what I can tell, the German version looks closer to the same old show’s style, whereas the US version’s shading gives it a more 3-dimensional feel.
I think it’s the opposite. The German version must be an older cut because the basic soft shadows and highlights in it are present on the english version.
I think the English trailer is showing a layer effect to increase the shadow/highlights contrast, which results in the saturation of the base colors.
Also, you can tell the English version has extra shadows and highlights in the faces.
Its way too much for me. They can tweak it, but I much rather they stick to the simpler three tone shading seen on the German trailer.

BEcause this is a 2d movie, those concepts only apply to real-time rendered cgi.
I don’t think you know what that is.
It’ll probably be the last time this happens.
I swear to god, someone in the editing department hates MLP.
Thanks for pointing out the differences, @Ebonysdagger
I have bad eyes too. :p
I don’t even need to look hard to notice the difference.
The colors alone stand the fuck out to me.

Edited because: spelling
Exactly.
3rd Image: Look at the Trixie Image, look at the Mare with the Redish hair, look at Trixie’s legs.
4th Image: Look at RD’s Cutie Mark, and all of AJ

And yet the airship CGI is still unfinished.

No, it really doesn’t.
