Old edit of this clip I made before. Haven’t uploaded it anywhere else except Funnyjunk image boards back then so source is the cute twilight animation instead
Hmm.. plays fine and stuff but it says the video is at like 10000 minutes or something
And annoying thumbnail doesn’t work… it’s static… which is actually a lot better than how it views right now (skipping frames and is actually quite annoying)
apparently the way they were played before were crashing browsers… or something
I just encode the videos as a MKV or MP4 and then change the file extension name to Webm and it works :P
Doesn’t seem to have issues so far… but it’s technically an MKV or MP4 then
I even encoded a video in H.264 and changed the file extension to Webm and it still played and the site accepted it :P
Also if you use a Youtube downloader site sometimes it’ll give you a Webm.. especially on newer videos
Edited
I’m not familiar with them either but it did not take me long to figure that out
Yeah
That’s what I was saying
Looks like it’s technically an MKV encoded with x264? Or am I wrong
That shouldn’t be the issue… the Webm’s I’ve uploaded were MKV/MP4 encoded with VP9 and x264 and they work fine
(basically, the ones I uploaded aren’t actually Webm’s :P)
Err… wait… I see it was encoded with vp8… wow, I’m fucking stupid… my mind isn’t clear right now because I’m depressed… sorry…
Something is definitely messed up with the metadata :P
Something is screwed up in the header. FFmpeg says the video is 173 hours long.
Metadata:
encoder : Lavf56.40.101
Duration: 173:18:02.48, start: 623870.517000, bitrate: 0 kb/s

Easy there, sport. Not everyone is familiar with WEBM. You have that Duck badge for a reason.
Congrats, dude! You figured out how webm files work on this site. Glad you figured it out so easily.
