I don’t really get all the “shipping fuel” comments because of this awesome song.  
Fluttershy and Dashie are together because they are both pegasi (and friends since they were kids)  
Pinkie and AJ because they are earth ponies (and maybe related?)  
Twilight and Rarity because they are unicorns (and both are important to Spike)
 
Well, I guess no matter what pairing the song would have made, all of them would have caused shipping comments
