…AND, Kirk’s been guilty of both throughtout the series…Either way a parody is still a parody. It doesn’t have to follow the source material to an absolute, otherwise the joke would be lost. Their similar in someways, but the difference present is where the humor can be derived…I REALLY shouldn’t have to explain. This applies to my batmare crossover/parody, and it applies here.
 
Why not make your own crossover if that’s not good enough for you?

Again, parody…Those traits you listed off weren’t the only traits Kirk was known for…he was pretty damn brash and egocentric sometime, like Rd, but not without a very “dashing rouge”, rascal, bad-boy (or mare) like charm.

Well duh. Who says this has to be the enterprise? I say we just assign them roles of our own. Dash is head of security on the NCC-2643 Ponyville. Twi is head of the Science division, Flutters is the CMO.

Just to make things clear, red shirts in Star Trek: TOS tend to be the ones to die but Rarity is obviously Uhura, so she won’t die, and it’s very likely(and crazy) that Pinkie is Scotty, so she’s also not going to die.

Dash is too dumb to be a captain  
remember, Kirk was smart and outwitted his opponents, Dash flies head first into walls and nearly gets killed kicking dragons  
Also, Fluttershy doesn’t have what it takes to be McCoy

I’d Say RD and Kirk are pretty much a perfect match, especially the younger Kirk. (one’s shipped with everypony, the other has fucked everything in the universe)

Again, Dash (shipping magnet) and Kirk (fucking Kirk) have been with everyone in the known galaxy, their practically in-sync. That and they’re both the most brash, arrogant and (to avoid a corny pun) Dashing of their groups.
