Animals eat animals. The only macroscopic life that doesn’t consume other life (aside from macroscopic colonies of micro life) is photosynthetic plants.
 
Dairy and eggs are awesome exceptions. Everybody lives, Rose! Except plants can’t exactly feel pain or think much, though, so…
