Bullshit it isn’t. I’m not sure why it’s such a hard concept to grasp that the term refers to a potential romantic interest becomes just a friend.

Taking offense? Not really. I guess, at the end of the day it’s the message that counts and not the text or image itself. I would however prefer if the message had some form of arguments to it or relevance to the image or you could relate it to a person. Otherwise I’m not going to take it seriously.

at the end of the day, they’re fictional ponies and it doesn’t really matter what opinions people use them to express.

Hell, even these comments are kinda nostalgic. I expected even those who agreed with the general idea to shout it down on the principle that Mouthpieces=Bad. Finding unironic agreement is like finding a T-Rex in the wild.
 
As for the message itself… Depends. Friendzone in the sense of friendship inherently as a failure state is obvious BS. However, many MANY people use it as slang for unrequited love, and I still see these people shouted down even if they clarify. That too s BS. Unrequited love is a thing, and is not just the manifestation of male entitlement. Hell, it’s not exclusively a male thing either.

So never be nice to girls you like because liking you back isn’t based on kindness at all, got it.
 
That is the problem with black and white statements like that. The “friendzone” is both real and not real because different people have different opinions of what constitudes as one. Also feminism.
