Just because they don’t use Tumblr/Derpibooru doesn’t mean it’s okay to not credit the original artist.
 
As you say, there’s nothing wrong with tracing in and of itself. It’s when you try to pass it off as your own that it becomes plagiarism.

I would if うさ城まに had an artist tag or participated on derpibooru and tumblr,i follow the artist myself and would thank him if i could speak japanese.
 
It was very fun redrawing this entirely from scratch on a white canvas by hand and putting my own spin on it,learned a lot from it,trying to reproduce art by superior artists is good practice and very common,just like how うさ城まに started out tracing screenshots from lucky star 10 years ago,gotta start somewhere.
 
Its really exciting to think of what i could draw if i keep practicing for 10 more years,i only got my first wacom tablet and started hand drawing just 4 months ago,its even the motto of my tumblr front and center “colored pony,cant actually draw” (yet)

These aint no regulation athletic bloomers,these are the real deal,the classic white undies pinkie sleeps with and wears under her regular clothes.
 
Spent extra time trying to get the best panty physics i could get with the way the cloth clings to her body,no spray painted butt effect here,no siree bub.
