On one hand they were complete jerks by leaving her and replacing her in front of her face without even regarding her.
On the other hand
1 she was legitimately dangerous with her horn only having destructive explosive capabilities left. If messed up with her aim (I don’t think she can aim when she blasts at full power ie Celaeno’s airship seemed random)it could SERIOUSLY harm of not kill them.
2 they’re kids. Kids are known for not making the best descisions
