Today/yesterday they made some changes to the site. These four were changed to “Season 3, Episode 0” (from Season 2, Episode 0) and there’s now a drop-down where you can select either “Summertime Shorts” or “Better Together”
 
These are now listed under Better Together while the previous videos are under Summertime Shorts.
 
So it’s still not 100% clear that this is actually the new series, but I guess now it’s safe to say they are not supposed to be a part of the Summertime Shorts series.
 
I’m going to change the implications to Spoiler:EQG Series and they may all end up getting changed to Spoiler:EQG Better Together Shorts if we get an actual full-length episode #1 on November 17th.

I think they are just pre shorts to get ready for a actual series since all 4 of them say episode 0

she might not have been when she was an alpha bitch but she might play them to feel like she has a connection to her magical days.

I found it a bit weird that Sunset of all people was a major gamer. Might have made things seem less weird if they had her mention how video games in this world are way cooler than the ones back where she comes from(Equestria) so the fascination would be due to how the thing in question is so much more advanced than what she was used to.

Well, these are animated by DHX, not Boulder, and they have the new intro – the same one attached to the preview of “Overpowered” that was screened at HASCON.

For the record there’s still no confirmation that these are the actual series and not just further additions to the shorts that they have been releasing over the last 4-5 months.
 
These are all listed on their site as “Season 2 Episode 0” but so are all the summertime shorts like Subs Rock etc.
 
I would think the inaugural episode of the series would be somewhat more substantial.

Just the mention of a Tirek video game makes me wanna see Princess Twilight’s reaction to it

My opinion on the first shorts:
 
A Fine Line: A damn good start for this series of shorts;  
A queen of Clubs: The story is a bit dull but seeing AJ and RD dealing quickly with all kinds of clubs was hilarious XD;  
Pinkie Sitting: …… uhm…. nevermind….;  
School of Rock: this one was pretty.
 
That is all for now. 3/4. Not a bad start. 41 more to go.

3 Minutes? Come on, the series have too much potencial wasted, 3 minutes isn’t enough, even when there are lots of episodes per day  
Quality =/= Quantity, anyways, these shorts are good, (((at least now we can’t wait a year for a repetitive movie with all of that repetitive new character turned into a demon defeated by friendship))), but if the episodes where like 10 minutes long that would’ve great

This on top of CN’s recent announcement that new episodes of Steven Universe would be uploaded to THEIR mobile app before airing on TV is a troubling trend that TV networks are slowly phasing the “TV” part out of their broadcasting.
