I think you underestimate the intelligence of the viewers. Most, if not all viewers would just assume it’s a Human version of Tirek, as is the theme of Equestria Girls with it’s theme of turning the Ponies into Humans.
Honestly? All the MLP fans who weren’t around for that would be lost as to why he looks completely different from the one they already saw in Friendship is Magic.
