Sorry, whenever I see the characters I think of the anime “.Hack: Legend of the Twilight” in which a pair of siblings are ‘gifted’ the use of these legendary avatars.
There are some heavy incestual tones in that anime as well.

Largely because SAO took over its spot, I suspect.
It even took over the video-game niche; ‘Sword Art Online Hollow Realization’ feels like a different company made a new version of the .hack games - a bunch of improvements, and some changes that are a bit strange.
Though if the ‘settings’ were reversed, there’s certainly one problem of anime-SAO that wouldn’t have happened; Using mixed keywords instead of levels in a tower would mean a lot more ‘training ground’ for newbies, so no ‘beater’ issues at the start.
