my theory is that the show is set in an alternate universe from eqg, in which the sirens were actually banished to the dimension of butthurt equestria girls fans wanting their spinoff to be canon, where they lived happily ever after, with all the hatred they could ever possibly want.

well, she teleported in the holiday special. I haven’t seen all of season 8 yet, tbh.
Y’know, come to think of it, I don’t think we’ve seen Twilight teleport in any episode that came out after the movie (When was the last time she teleported in Season 8?).

yeah, but she didn’t teleport, like, at all ever. not when the storm guards attacked canterlot, not when escaping that furry’s windmill house, not saving pinkie from falling, not to emphasize how angry she was with dash’s rainboom, not when caught in the tentacles, not even in any of the song and dance numbers. it was… odd.
her greatest feat of magic was something rarity could’ve done.
To be fair, Tempest shocks her cage and twilight is protected from the shocks, so it likely had a magical barrier around it; nothing gets in nothing gets out.

most jarring thing about twi wasn’t her character at all; it was her magic. she couldn’t even teleport! that’s like twilight sparkle’s thing since G1!
