Funny you mention that because since it’s winter and I’m bored, I’ll usually run experiments overclocking the shit out of my desktop computer.
Thanks to the Black Friday sales on Newegg I actually got a Asrock AM4 motherboard and a AMD Ryzen 1700X for a pretty good price.
Anyways I’m also running it on a ABS Majesty 1100watt psu two EVGA 780GTX’s that I’ve had For Awhile now,
they are some pretty freaking old graphics cards, but still pretty strong gpu’s.
So just last week while I was freezing my butt off by computer and fiddling with some over clocks on it playing with Heaven benchmark.
I actually pushed my desktop to pull close to 900watts of power from my PSU.
I’ve never actually pushed my system to maxing out my power supply like that. XD
But I soon found out that the power cord leading from my power strip with a wattage meter to my PSU apparently sucks.
Because I started smelling burning plastic and as soon as I figured out that it was the cord itself that was starting to melt, it literally Popped and threw some fire out as it nearly melted the cord in half!
My power strip has a scorch mark on it and I think I still have the cord…
Edited because: Lol pictures!
you don’t need a circuit board for that. you just need some exposed wiring, and something highly flammable!
What if someone wants their SweetieBot to make them breakfast?
