I don’t think he has a company yet. Both he and Delta are still in college, and he never says anything about owning a company at this point

delta’s opportunity was in another city, so she was getting ready to move away from jet. he couldn’t follow her because his own company needed him there to get it started. well, maybe he could’ve followed her, and given up on his own aspirations, but he didn’t. even if eqsi had been willing to hire her, delta couldn’t go there, because jet used her pregnancy to pressure her into staying with him.

Delta Vee is getting the opportunity of a lifetime and she needs to make an interview. We are not sure if she made it to the interview, or if she did make it, if she even got the job. What we do know is that finding out she was pregnant with Apogee ended it.
 
My question is: How could pregnancy end your career when any large, hugely funded company like that would have a program for mares with young children to give the mother time with her baby to nurse it until it is no longer fully dependant, give the child either a day-care or pay the mother enough to put the kid in one, and still allow the mother to work or have time on leave for the baby?
 
In other words… Did this really end Delta’s Career, or did Delta freak out and quit when she found out?

I will say that from what I’ve seen so far, Jet isn’t a true sleaze ball since he is helping to raise their daughter.I’m just glad that so far, he didn’t prove to be a coward and vanish as soon as he realized he got Delta knocked up.

isn’t it worse that he thinks forcing someone to have children could ever result in anything good? at least if he knew it was wrong, he wouldn’t have such fucked up expectations. he’s gonna try to save the relationship, and just dig himself deeper into the ground, and maybe even try to force her to be happy to bear children, whereas a sleazeball would just smirk at her and go, “yeah, I got you good.”

I feel like he thought a kid would keep them together and fix everything. It’s not 100% faulty logic.

For all the people that are thinking that Jet is probably the scumbag in this situation. It’s probably because this is coming from Delta’s point of view, AKA her memory of this moment. After all she’s definitely not looking at him right here so how does she know he was making an plan to ruin her life

Dude, if you look bad to the original image of three of them together you can total see that Jet regets everything. While Delta does look angry and bitter in that picture, jet just looks misrible and sad as fuck. I get where your coming from with Jet being a scumbag but I like to think that he’s trying to make up for the bad thing he did to the one he loved by trying to give Apogee a good life. Afterall he could have just put her up for adoption as soon as Delta left.

Oh. I think I know what happened.
 
They go out drinking, they do the do, Delta manages to either get the job or she misses the interview because of hangover, if she gets the job she can’t work because she’s pregnant, they replace her with Jet who was trying to get a job there so he could work with her again, and then she’s where we see her now.

I believe it was the author of the fanfics, P-Berry, who mentioned Jet’s offers. I’m not saying that Delta isn’t partly to blame for being a miserable bitch she is today, she made her own choices after whatever happened. But still Jet is a scumbag for this. Personal I still want to see how all was handled after this. Did Jet really feel sorry about what he did when/if he offered Delta a job? What level of position was it? And why did he take the job that Delta wanted in the first place? Most likely partly because after she broke up with him, he couldn’t pursue their original plans on his own, but did he take the job he knew she wanted also to spite her, or did he hope to climb the ladder and offer her the job of her dreams to make amends for his actions? There’s so much more to be seen.

“Trapping” has been a largely female-dominated… ah, technique. But I’ve never really seen anyone complain about it until here, with this stallion apparently perpetrating the same one.

I mean, I’d like to think he offered her a job there, at least so she isn’t left like this. I thought I remembered something like that but looking back through these I didn’t see it.
 
And she probably refused - it’d be too humiliating working for him, and giving him what he wanted from the beginning. Which you can’t really blame her for.
 
But at the same time, it would mean she at least had an option to not end up like this.

Indeed yes she is partly responsible. But we must always remember that as her trusted boyfriend at this point Jet has alot of influence over her, more than most ponies would and it looks like he’s knowingly going to use this against her. They are both responsible for their own actions but I personally have to give Jet more disapproval for being the intentional instigator behind what is about to come.

However, i feel like Delta is also to blame for this situation, since, for all the way they both walked towards the bar to drink, she could have just said “i don’t want to get a hangover and screw up my interview” and gone home.

Wow, until now I had thought they had simply made a mistake and Delta couldn’t take her dream job because she was in the middle of her pregnancy, but it looks like Jet screwed her over before she was even aware she was knocked up. I don’t think he intended to get her pregnant, just get her drunk that night so she’d be too tired and hungover to get up on time for her interview, which she probably does, but the pregnancy is just an unintended result of that night. The thing is though I used to think it was an honest mistake on both their parts, but it seems clear here that Jet was plotting something, and now he’s a filthy rich owner of a business and Delta is a miserable bitch wallowing in everything but love for herself.
 
Not all stories can have a sunny ending but it’s always hard on me when I come across one like this. Doesn’t look like Jet will even pay for what he’s done either. Sad.

That is my overall take, yes. He probably was staring down the idea of losing everything from the girl and future family he’d been expecting, to the dream job he’d been working towards (he’s young and just out of college, so losing the one person he’s met as brilliant and driven as he is surely feels more like a disaster than it is to begin with)…
 
So unfortunately it’s not hard to see why he might have thought that trapping Delta would be a good idea. After all, if it all works out in the end, it’s okay, right?
 
This is why I sincerely hope he is in fact the best dad ever, because Delta doesn’t seem to care at all and now it seems probably never wanted her at all (ouch).
 
If Shino reads these comments at all, I REALLY hope he ends up explicating more on Jet’s side of things; the psychology of everything from ‘why did he think this was a good idea’ to ‘I got everything I wanted out of my life plans except the girl and I made the girl of my dreams miserable and ruined’ is fascinating.
