Here’s a rough draft of a comic I started a couple years back. It was discarded because I couldn’t think of some plot points and loss of interest.

It was to be Luna had been exiled to the Moon once again by a corrupted Twilight. She returns to much more modernized Equestria, and it is even more overwhelming than the first time, but she adjusts more quickly having expected it.

Twilight had been petrified in magic (much like Discord) along with the friends that tried to stop her tyranny some centuries before Luna’s return. And to this day they stand within the castle grounds in permanent combat.

There had been no rulers, just government, as Cadence could not rule two kingdoms, but she would still be around. This was before Flurry Heart was a thing so she wasn’t in the story.

With Equestria’s new age, Luna didn’t fit into a role anymore, so she hid her wings in a coat and simply went on living, dejectedly so, looking for a purpose other than to give solace in dreams like she once did.

Until one day a sign that Celestia could very well still be alive somewhere, within dreams she searches, but Celestia never sleeps. She can’t. Not when her very nightmares are what caused the calamity that infected Twilight in the first place, and Dark magic is very much alive. Silently she suffers, wilting away like a sunflower in winter.
