I honestly do not know if this helps or not, but when I draw ponies, I start with the muzzle and then the ears so that I can ensure that I get the facial outline proportioned correctly (also make sure that you leave enough room for the eyes), and then I add the facial details such as the eyes, mouth, nostrils, and ear details. Lastly, I work on the mane because it may flow over the eyes, and will likely go around the ears.

Practice makes perfect. I have a lot of work on portion and placement, but I’m getting better. Think I may focus on eyes first and then move on to ears.
Thank you! I was a little worried I went to simple on them. I was trying a different position then what I’m used to doing.
That face though
