The front line? Haha. That point was to not recognize fighters as the only ones doing the work.
 
This is a totally different case. This was not a battle. This was an invasion. “Blitzkrieg” ring a bell? If you know world history thisbis a no brainer. How do you combat an enemy that was ready with troops in multitudes with large never-before-seen battle vessels, and moreover equipped with armor capable of deflecting magical energy on any level.
 
How does anyone fight of that? How does a civilian like Lyra - or any pony for that matter - fight of juggernauts?

You know - on a totally different matter - the ones fighting in wars may seem like the ones doing all the work but no one ever considers how the ones helping bring food for soldiers to eat matter just as much. Or how we forget that the ones that make apparel for soldiers help keep them warm, clean, and medically secure.
 
I guess the little people/ponies don’t matter much to the ignorant and oblivious. But they do. Everypony matters.
