Season 3 has been killing it so far.  
I thought Season 2 was very hit and miss but every episode of season 3 has been amazing.

This was the best episode of season 3 yet. We got:  
Trixie  
Stuff that isn’t Trixie  
Who cares  
Trixie

Obvious Star Wars referances.  
Return of a season 1 character.  
Zecora playing a major part.  
References to previous episodes.  
Pinkie breaking the Tough Wall WITH Twilight.  
Plenty of screen time for Fluttershy.  
Acknowledging the fan term “Alicorn”, even if the term existed before-hand.  
Spike interacting with Fluttershy.  
And overall just good writing.
 
The only thing that made me mad was Fluttershy letting the others walk all over her again.
