To me the really fun part about actual depression is when people find out about it and say “Well, stop feeling sad and you won’t be depressed any more!”

Some people cut because they feel it’s a way to cope with negative emotions and stress and whatever traumatising things they’ve experienced so I wouldn’t generalize everyone who does it as a “narcissist”.

I agree cutting yourself just so you can show everyone the scars and say “I’m depressed, feel sorry for me” is certainly not depression.
 
it’s pathological narcissism, which is a very serious topic.

What’s the point in changing it? A lightbulb on the outside will only highlight the unending darkness of my entire life.
