To be truthful, I think a lot of ponies seem to represent different countries.
 
Vinyl Scratch - Japan, because she’s cool and loves electronic music
 
Lyra - Italy, for she is sweet, happy, and energetic
 
Bon Bon - France, since her name is actually French for “Candy”
 
Rainbow Dash - USA, since she has a huge ego and thinks she’s way better than she really is
 
Twilight Sparkle - Germany, since she is so intelligent, sensible and kind, and seems to be able to create incredible inventions (Such as the one she used to try and detect Pinkie’s Pinkie Sense)
 
And there’s more too. But I won’t list them since I’ve already annoyed the crap out of you with how much I talk.

Nah nah, the nations and their positioning was based on this picture, and it’s all I could be arsed to draw.  

(German pony) mistake was trying to take take over Europe, (A feudal country to begin with) then they began a war with Brittan, (Really not a good idea, though they ALMOST pulled it off.) THEN they aggravated the Russian bear and didn’t even bring a jacket. (Suicidal)
 
Germany certainly proved they could go the mile, it was a matter of over-stretching their forces and some highly questionable leadership in the later years of the war.
 
Shouldn’t there be a little Australia & Canada under Brittan’s hoof, A little France pony leaning against America and Russia suspiciously glaring at America though?
