Eh, I kinda see what he’s talking about. The darker shading over the eye doesn’t particularly help it look raised up as opposed to lower down.
I don’t know what you’re talking about. If you take the right eye, you can clearly see that the latex adopts a convex shape over it.

Look closely, latex goes flat on inside of empty sockets. Clearly this creature doens’t have eyes under that latex.

Why? Unless you got traumatized watching “The Empty Child”, I don’t see how this is particularly horrific.
