Things like this never scared me as a kid, and I would have probably rooted for their death due to my simpler morality.

I’ve seen similar things, never felt shocked, thought to be fair I never got into that either. I was somehow detached by those kind of things.
Again, it probably has to do with the standards: I think it’s because I believe since the first episodes Saint Seiya had blood like that(I don’t really know), but by MLP standards the scene was unexpectedly creepy.

And all the 4chan people were thinking they gave up on character deaths after Starlight. The original version of this scene is the closest we’ve gotten to canon MLP gorn.
