Pinkie squigs are known throughout the galaxy as one of the cuter forms of orkoid infestation, and generally a planet infested with pinkie squigs doesn’t go on to produce the usual deadlier forms of orky life for reasons that are still unclear. While their ownership is technically prohibited by Imperial law, many people have one anyway. Even the Inquisition isn’t completely immune to their cuddly charm. It helps that they’re genuinely clever, perceptive and even helpful to have around.
 
The orks, on the other hand, find them immensely annoying, and usually kill them on sight.
