Apparently not. So far the only Student Six that is canonically related to a previous character in the series is Silverstream who is related to Queen Novo and Princess Skystar.

I mean, could be that, like us, Gallus assumed they were related.
 
And who knows, maybe the part that was most important wasn’t the part about no family (if the idea about griffons just forming groups of griffons they like the most/hate the least rather than having actual family units is accurate), but rather his statement that he felt like there was no place for him in Griffonstone.
 
I mean, if you look at his character, it makes sense - he seems somewhere caught in-between: nicer than the average griffon, but not as nice and sunny as, say, Gabby. Therefore, he doesn’t have the hardened soul, so that other griffons’ unkindness wouldn’t bother him, that he didn’t care about making friends, about having something more than just distant acquaintances, but his inner light is also not strong enough to resist extinguishment by that same unkindness (again, like seems to be the case with Gabby). Saying that, it seems likely that he tried to make friends (or indeed a family, if the idea above is accurate), but was then wounded by a betrayal, or his affection was rebuffed, and so he put on that mask of aloofness and sarcasm, and didn’t try to do it again, in order to try and avoid the pain.
 
Obviously, that would make his friendship with the others of the Young Six all the more touching, as he finally has others he trusts and likes enough to open up to like that, attain the level of friendship he had desired all along.
