or maybe they wanted Pinkie Pie to have a more crazier and a more exotic-animal like pet than a Mouse like what the people who created Phineas and Ferb did as they gave the main characters a pet Platypus
Oh, they say Mice overused, but I bet Ducks and Rabbits are just fine.
I think that mouse was originally going to be Pinkie Pie’s pet in the series but then the production team realised that mice as pets or as a side character was a bit too overused in fiction so they created Gummy
