The founding of Equestria involved consolidation of pony territories into a kingdom (technically principality) as opposed to an empire or (con)federation, with an alicorn central authority, essentially turning city-states into just cities, What’s the point in sovereign titles without sovereignty?
Wondering if Equestria conquered all these nations. Sonambula had its Pharoah Pony and that eastern area had its Empress. You here no mention of these positions in modern times in PonyLand.

Except Equestria IS the country. And they Said that city is in southern Equestria.
Not to start a flame war, but I’ll admit it’s possible not illegal immigration, but we should at least keep in mind the possibility that if Equestria works like real world or more specifically u.s.a. it may be part of the Equestrian continent, but it could still be illegal immigration just like how it is for Mexico and Canada which is part of the North American continent
