I don’t hate spike, but neither do I adore him; On that token the same can be said that I don’t actively look for good art nor do I say there is any warrant of any hate art either.
 
But I do however have to admit, that even as the primary male protagonist(if only slightly as of the most recent seasons) in our gaggle of Femme fatales. He has been cucked innumerable whether by intention or as collateral damage. I feel he’s placed as the “Weakest link” or the “comedic affect” simply because. A: He’s still technically a kid, even if he has grown a little bit, and B: You can’t say-… get away with making fluttershy trip on her hooves cause she was rushing to do a thing, she’s much too important and beloved nowadays to even consider the reprecussions of that, but spike… well you can do anything to a whipping boy.
 
So I’m seeing it as like “the mane 6 are our heroes, they need to continually be seen as becoming even more infallible over time, also, major IP icons, can’t discredit them in away cause that deducts from profits or something”

Hell If I know, shoot it could just legitimately be everybody on the writers table just doesn’t like spike, or maybe they don’t realize they’re terrible at writing. I’m trying speak as objective I can about a very subjective matter.
