Wouldn’t call it widely accepted, but certainly widely known. Personally I don’t accept it, but I respect the artist’s choice to use it.

The artist didn’t screw anything up, this was a deliberate stylistic choice. This project began years before that episode ever aired and the artist had already decided on the pink mane and made it a part of the story being told. Once the episode aired, the decision was made to keep that part of the story as it was.

Ummmmm… how do you figure that? She got her colored hair by channeling the elements of harmony when she stood up against Nightmare Moon. That is the widely accepted fanon.

So even though we know she didn’t have pink hair at the time, the artist still managed to screw it up.

I think this scene was better than the official version. In the series Celestia faces Luna with the elements almost like an old west gunfight. Here Celestia uses the elements desperately, like grabbing any weapon she could and only afterward realizing what she did.

I got a very Cowboy Bebop feel from this scene.

Could’ve sworn one of the tags said “Lunar Missile”

recently saw this, and sadly enough… it does end in tears, just not for who you expect…
