Think about what I said.
I started off with “fact.”
Then said “season 8 didn’t happen.”
Obviously that isn’t true and is not factual. I was being sarcastic and expressing a somewhat hidden opinion I had of the season. Then you replied with a garbled sentence about IDW and the MLP movie, and I was just asking for clarification, to which you decided to not answer and only make me more confused and frustrated, and to which I gave up and quit replying.
But of course other people tried to get involved and now look at it.

If you’re trying to state that the movie isn’t canon, you’ve been proven wrong. If you’re saying the movie didn’t introduce anything new, you’ve been proven wrong. If you’re saying the movie wasn’t necessary and all of its content could have been introduced through episodes, that’s a pointless comment because the same could be said for any particular episode in addition to the movie. Rotating through different interpretations to keep yourself feeling un-cornered, just so you have the wiggle room to call yourself victimized for the constant retorts doesn’t make you right, it makes you lamentable.

Don’t read the comics haven’t missed a damn thing as far as canon is concerned.

Those are just two of many examples in season 8.
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but School Daze makes it pretty clear that they all just got back from a major event. Mount Aris and other places they visited outside Equestria’s borders are not only named but visible on the map.
Season 8 runs as a follow on to the events of the movie. Deny it all you like but the evidence is there.
Your logic on canon is flawed in one crucial way; anything developed by Hasbro Studios is to be considered canon unless told otherwise because it’s they who hold the power to dictate canon. This includes the movie and Equestria Girls.
The comics and other “extra media” are only determined to be canon or not at the decision of Hasbro Studios. Not us.
