Oh dang you’re right. I mixed plan A and plan B together. The happiness dreamworld, and the feeding on cocooned people. They happened very close together afterall. @littlecolt
I don’t think it’s a trope at all, this specificity of this is probably unique to Naruto Shippuuden. At the end.
The trope I know is called “lotus eater machine” which is basically just what this is. Sleeping individuals being fed upon.

No, putting the world under a happy dream was Madara’s goal. He never knew it would bring back Kaguya, nor does she seem to ever mention the infinite tsukuyomi.

As a writer, I can absolutely say that it doesn’t hurt that you accidentally stepped into a trope. Tropes are tropes because they work well for the majority of times.
Consider that this idea is roughly the same as The Matrix (although it has more factual accuracy than that movie’s plot).
Yeah, it’s been done a fair few times, but I love seeing a new take on it that’s genuinely good.
It’s far better to execute an existing trope well, than try to subvert or avoid tropes completely and do a bad job.

Loving this so far!
Dunno what that is, actually. Educate me? As the guy who wrote this all on inspiration in 2012, it’s interesting to know my tropes!

Agreed. Instant favorite.
