In order to provide a more realistic answer to your question.
 
Reformation by Rainbow Light: No transition, no self invoked realization of wrongdoing. Just BAM, suddenly good and repentant.
 
Then later in the series after her redemption she becomes as cliche as an 80’s cartoon protagonist that’s always portrayed as unquestionably right within each episode.
 
And she also carries around a mind reading trinket that provides a cheap way to speed along the story’s plot resolution.

reformed Sunset is definitely the worst. hell, even Chancellor Neighsay and Cozy Glow are better than her–and they aren’t even reformed (yet)!

yeah, and at least Sunset 1.0 wasn’t the complete fraudulent mess that Sunset 2.0 is. the only problem with her was that her potential as a villainess was severely lacking. still, she was fun to watch (and is one of the only few redeeming factors in EqG 1).

Wrong, the Sunset that came out of that crater was Sunset 2.0, a completely new character with no evil intentions whatsoever.
