So there basically is no reason to bring her back, maybe as background pony or something.
Those GIFs cheat. They use color-to-white aliasing, not alpha aliasing. Meaning that on any background other than white, it looks far worse than with no aliasing.
Impossible with GIF, It’s either full alpha or not, no aliasing.
APNG could do it, but Chrome and IE don’t support it.
