Oh i dont empathise easily, i just know it shouldn’t be our responsibility to associate with these people.

Your claim about his critics being 90% morality LARPers is absolutely spot-on. It’s like when furries have their public freak outs when an artist gets accused of drawing cub porn or making a Nazi uniform for a fursuit. Yes, they do genuinely find it distasteful but they do not really care and it’s a convenient outlet to hurl abuse at someone and pretend to feel morally superior.

The people most heavily criticising him are just virtue signalling AFAIC. I’m not defending him or whatever he did; I don’t actually care, because people only pretend to care about the victims in my experience. I know this because I have social workers in my family, and one of what can be considered my foster family members killed themselves, due both to the abuse they suffered, and how no one seemingly cared because said abuse didn’t concern their bathing suit area.

It was observed and confirmed for a while that a select few have been playing defence for him, either in the belief that what he did wasn’t actually wrong (which I can feel for, believe it or not) or denying his actions entirely.
 
His actions where morally ambiguous, but he has made it hard for any brony to stand by him, and should prob go do something else, and spare us the trouble.
