Third section has no helpful comment as it seems we are in agreement other than Starlight’s use of the words “at least 9” should have been a big hint that maybe there would be more. Odd very few people picked that up.
 
Lastly, which of the things in the leak was confirmed to be outright false? I haven’t looked heavily into it after the start of Season 8 (though I believe I still have the leaks on my harddrive somewhere to reference).

For your question, though, no, he wouldn’t. From my experience, most EQG fans are pretty open with bragging every time they see an opportunity to give EQG some boost in the fandom, but at the same time, not open enough to outright say “EQG is better!”. Most of them are pretty well aware of the backlash such a statement would bring because no one truly thinks it’s better than My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.  
I’ve only seen one or two EQG fans who were bold enough to really say that it’s better.

That’s something I was made aware of, as well. I have yet to write about this in another entry of the aforementioned series and, so far, I’ve only seen one other person in the fandom who figured out the right meaning of that line. Props to you for that.
 
 

 
Or that. Both is possible. In the blog entry linked above, I’ve also explained that Hasbro’s decision is very likely not set in stone yet. That the leaks could be all faked is a notion I’m just getting since yesterday, when I looked at them again and found a few bits of contradicting information, as well as one that has been proven outright wrong by now.  
So, either way, fake or not, I’m feeling more and more confident with saying that Season 9 will not be the end of G4 and that there will be more seasons. Probably even five new seasons, judging by Starlight’s line and by the fact that the last time Hasbro talked about the length of the show, it also spoke about “five more years” for My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. With “years” translating as “seasons”, obviously.

If you actually payed attention to Hasbro’s YouTube Channel you would know that they release Multiple Languages of all there Shorts Clips and Music Videos the Equestria Girls series YouTube Exclusive so both FIM and EQG having different numbers of translations means nothing negative.

Well props to you on not just assuming Season 9 will be ending the show (evidence in an episode hints it continuing with a meta joke), however I don’t think the leaks were outright fake. Instead, I think they may have changed their mind on ending the show. Every episode title and synopsis of Season 8 was leaked, and every single one was correct despite being rather unbelievable at the time they were released. The rest of the information we have are concepts and discussions of said concepts, all of which are subject to change.
 
As for your other conversation (since you ignored my main point for that discussion), if OP was really trying to say EQG was better than FIM, wouldn’t he have just SAID that? I repeat, you’re making an assumption and placing an implication that isn’t there for the sake of arguing. It does explain the duck badge.

These are rumors, so far. It’s not confirmed yet that Season 9 is really going to be the last one. For all we know, all of these leaks could be fakes and there are quite a few things that contradict the information that came from the leaks and that make it look like Season 9 is not going to be the end. And at least one information from the leaked slides has already been proven wrong by now, which adds further fuel to the notion that the leaks are fake.  
Also, EQG always only lived and still lives, with what little life it has left, from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. The connection to the latter is the only reason why EQG is even watched by some and if that appeal would be gone, by My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic ending (be that whenever it may happen), then EQG will end, too.  
EQG can’t survive without its mother franchise and Hasbro knows that, so it will not let it live longer than My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.  
And for the shorts, as I already said, that Hasbro lets the EQG shorts getting translated into more languages is because EQG doesn’t have a show or any major releases to back it up and a much smaller fan following, so Hasbro needs to try harder with it. While My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic has such a show and a huge following, so an effort of making its shorts appealing to so many foreign countries is just not necessary.  
That’s a pretty good sign for it that EQG is struggling and that Hasbro is, for whatever reason, desperately pushing EQG to try and keep it relevant.

If that is true, then why would he make an upload here and write the description like that after making that observation? No one uploads anything just for the heck of it, there is always an intent behind an upload.  
And since this screenshot shows nothing more than the thumbnails of the respective videos and comes with a description that highlights the difference between translated languages for each type of shorts, there really can’t be another purpose behind this than “Look, look, EQG is so much better than My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic because it gets translated into more languages!”.  
I’ve seen this before, this is the same kind of obnoxious “In your face” behavior combined with feelings of false superiority that EQG fans show all the time. It is bragging.

you’re making this into an argument that the OP wasn’t trying to make. They were just pointing out that for some reason, EQG has 14 language options while MLP shorts have 3-4. However you seem to want to discuss which is considered better so let’s go into what’s going on in the background. Add onto this that there are rumors (I haven’t personally seen confirmation but I haven’t been actively looking either) that EQG will continue even after FIM ends (supposedly this year) and it becomes apparent which franchise Hasbro appears to favor. Does that mean EQG is in fact better than FIM? No, it just means Hasbro thinks it’s more profitable.

That movie was a looooooong time ago. And pretty much everyone who watched the EQG movies says that the second one is the best of them.  
Besides, the views of one song on YouTube don’t really reflect the popularity of EQG overall and especially not the sales power it has for Hasbro. That Hasbro has decided to tone down the format of EQG more and more happened for a reason.

I’m not sure if EQG reaches up to that number of foreign distributions. But even if it does, it is definitely not distributed in more countries than My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.

And what is this supposed to say? Why did you make this upload? This sounds like you just want to brag and insinuate that EQG is superior to MLP: Friendship is Magic.  
This doesn’t mean that, as you imply here, EQG has more popularity than MLP: Friendship is Magic, I have to burst that bubble right there:
 
The reason why Hasbro makes these EQG shorts is because big-time releases for EQG aren’t worth it anymore. EQG has always been weaker in popularity than MLP: FiM, but recently, it has been in a strong decline.  
The last movie for it came out in 2016 and the annual movie was replaced with three shorts specials of 22 minutes length each in 2017.  
2018 has not seen any growth for EQG then as there were also only 2 specials with a combined length that is only a little more than the three specials from the previous year.  
And there is only one confirmed special for this year and it’s unkown if there will be any more after that one.  
Any EQG content was also always released during hiatuses of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic only because for most of EQG’s audience, it is just hiatus fodder until a new season of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic starts.  
That makes it easy to see why the EQG shorts are translated into more languages than the My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic shorts. For the latter ones, it’s simply not necessary to have many language releases because it still has the show that drives it forward.  
EQG, however, doesn’t have a show to drive it, the movies have stopped and the specials seem to become more scarce. These shorts are pretty much the only thing that’s left of EQG, so Hasbro needs to compensate for that by introducing them to more foreign audiences. Which isn’t necessary for My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, since it has a lot to drive it forward internationally.  
So, overall, this isn’t a sign in favor of EQG’s popularity. On the contrary, it means that Hasbro has to try much harder with EQG to get it a moderate attention, because EQG is significantly less popular than My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.

I can’t wait to watch the EQG short in Esperanto.
