She is supposed to be digitigrade much like the Abyssinians in the MLP universe; something the artist kinda left out as she looks to be just standing on her toes.
 
Her colours and patterns are supposed to be that of a Bengal; which yeah, isn’t in the comics or movie, but Abyssinians just look like house cats, so I thought it’d be ok to make her a Bengal. Initial plans were to have her like a Siamese; with solid colour blocks or a ginger Tabby, but I settled with Bengal because it resembles the patterns my snow leopard has; who was in original plans for the story (the author and I quickly tossed that idea out because she was actually a furry character and snow leopards have no place in the MLP universe to begin with).
 
She is also a lot heavier built than a typical show Abyssinian because she’s a baker (that and her curves are more for sexual appeal thanks to her being in a porn story series :P you can read them on Calico64’s fimfic page named “As Luck Would Have It”)
 
Thooooo, I will add, her boyfriend in a future thing after they get married gets temporarily turned into an Abyssinian so they can have children, and he turns into a Siamese

The design at least could have some resemblance with capper’s one to have an idea of how an abyssinian oc in the mlp universe would look like. This pretty much looks like a generic furry cat dame for me. I find this design more appropriate:

I can vouch. Jasmine is an Abyssinian within the fanon realm of Ranchtown and is a perfectly serviceable original character for the MLP lore. As such, I do not see how the fact that she is a cat would matter. What if someone wanted to make an OC Cow. They are sentient beings in the show and they have been seen to talk. If someone were to make a Donkey character in the vain of Cranky Doodle, would they have to prove that they are, in fact, based in Equestria? I find this to be highly hypocritical and unfair to those who would like to broaden their horizons in terms of characters that could be and ARE actual parts of the lore. Of course, this should be handled with reason and not just allow a barrage of cat characters just for the sake of it. But when someone has this one character with all of this artwork (Some of them featuring actual pony characters) comes along with plenty of info to back them up, they shouldn’t be treated with such blatant disrespect and borderline harassment.

… she’s an Abyssinian; MLP’s canonical anthropomorphic cat species. She’s more lore friendly than an anthro pony because her species is usually like this. They have hands, they have paws. They walk on two legs like any other furry… just that she’s a canon species. It even says so in the tags.
