Huh. That’s an interesting theory for a moment that you’re probably meant to see as a cartoonish moment of excitement.
 
There’s also the fact that it was established in “Twilight Time” that they (CMC) spend time with Twilight, so it’s not unlikely she’s learned a few things from Twilight.

With Sweetie Belle making a weak shield in Campfire Tales, maybe it’s safe to say both her and Rarity are both above average in potential now that she’s been shown to be able to do this.

Kind of figured she could always do a bit more than the average Unicorn. Look how many things she can move around at a single time. But my money was her stamina was always just less than Twilights but far more than say Lyra or Moondancer.

Bout time we got to see Rarity doing some more magic. I think all we’ve seen her do is Transformation way back in season 1 Look before you sleep. And the standard Unicorn Levitation spell.  
And in most confrontations she’s pulling some sort of Karate move.

Nice to see Rarity fight. I always wondered how she would compare to Twilight and Starlight in terms of ability to fight with magic.

Only in episode 13 of season 5, unless I’m forgetting another time. Of course, that was in a dream. It’s hard to say whether Rarity could always shoot magic beams in the waking world because she is usually physical in altercations. Against these vines though, magic is the better option since it lets her keep some distance.
