Sombra is still the only character to visually wound the elements.
 
During Harmony’s message to the student 6, she looked jagged and static-y. Like she was badly damaged.

Only trouble I have with it is that it happened in the very next episode. I feel like the tree being reborn should’ve been something reserved for later in the Season. Possibly even as the final event in the Series once Grogar is inevitably beaten in some way and Twilight assumes her role as the ruler of Equestria. Since it would paint things in a rather dire light to have no Tree of Harmony when Grogar strikes, and then his final defeat would be the catalyst for the tree to be reborn, serving as a symbol of hope for a brighter future for Equestria.
 
I don’t mind the new purpose of the Tree, I just think it happened too quickly.

Isn’t that how most episodes in this series go? The problem is fixed by the end? Few episodes out of what will be over 200 change the status quo, but because the Y6 seem to be the new beneficiaries of the Tree, that’s certainly changed.

I see it as a metaphor for the ending of MLP:FiM. We’re all finding our own way of remembering the show after it’s gone, but we’ll always have the fandom.

Grogar explicitly told Sombra that his attempt would be pointless. This has come full circle and Grogar’s statement stands true.

Because why should anything actually matter?

This kind of makes the premiere pointless now. Since, aside from the gathering of the villains and appearance of Grogar, nothing has changed that much. The Elements and Tree of Harmony are gone now, but the Mane Six no longer need the physical Elements and the Tree of Harmony was reborn an episode later as something new. So really nothing significant has happened.
