You’re seriously in the minority on this one.
https://derpibooru.org/pony/why-episode-200-was-lack-luster
here, it has all the complaints I have
That’s not even an argument.
To me, it’s just another bad episode.
That wasn’t the point of the episode. This just hits home how you didn’t pay attention to it. It literally developed Spike’s character, which is nice considering people have denied his role as a main character for years.
But there’s nothing gained. If it wanted to be a love letter, then why not include world building or MAJOR character development? This is the final bucking season, and it can’t waste episodes on pointless stuff like this. I mean, I like the ideas presented, but there’s nothing to them. The heist idea is fun, but since there’s no danger, i’m not invested like I was with Where and Back again. The “twist” was kinda boring and the whole thing with a plastic crown is kinda dumb.
This episode wasn’t about fan service. It was a thank you letter to the five main actresses. And it’s better for it by putting together a more focused story.
Well, you’d be in the minority on that.
I tried to watch it all the way through, but got so bored and disinterested, i skipped around. Even the “twist” at the end wasn’t too entertaining. I’m having a bad feeling about this season
As I see it, this episode was more about character interaction and fun than it was “meat.” Plus we did get some Twilight family flashbacks, and a long-awaited attempt by Canterlot to improve its security.
Still wasted on a subpar story with little meat to it
I don’t get it, I thought Spike episodes got called cringe because the majority of them have Spike be unreasonably foolish or inept. Here he was competent and in character throughout.
Doesn’t that make this another cringy Spike episode to go with the others then? It’s just bad compared to what it could’ve been.
And, I must add, I’m a very big Spike fan and think that he deserves better than what he gets. I want Spike episodes to be good. I want him to get the attention he deserves.
Edited
Watchoo talking about? This is Spike finally getting the recognition he deserves. Been a LONG time coming.
But I expected more from the actors. I mean, yes, episode 100 was cringy and fan-service filled, but they were able to use it to expand on the characters and world. Here, nothing’s gained.
What fan-service?
Well, it was ep 200. That was to be expected.
