This massive equine is known as a subterranean pony. They once lived happily in the mountain range to the north of the Crystal Empire. Until the day Sombra took over. Subterranean ponies have a society built around crystal gems. They use them as a form of identity and are able to bring out the hidden potential of these pretty rocks. They even go as far as attuning gems with their bodies to establish a sense of nobility. This left them vulnerable to the corruption of Sombra’s influence to turn them into monsters. They fled the lands and moved further inland of Equestria. When they tried introducing themselves to regular ponies, they were chased away because they looked too big and mean. So, as a last resort to escape the possible reign of Sombra, the went to the undergrounds of Equestria where they remained there in hiding.

They are excellent diggers. They have the ability to curl up into a ball to roll around or spin in place(yes, just like Sonic). This is how they dig. The hair on their back functions like sandpaper to grind and dig through rocks and stone. Not only that, they can also smash through rocks and boulders like it is nothing. This gave them the name Subterranean ponies.
