I would imagine then that basically /most/ people who use the hypnosis tag on this site are probably using it incorrectly then…. That’s a very specific scenario I don’t see often. An actual “professional” or “medical” scenario.
 
I say “professional” and “medical” in quotations of course because as far as I can tell it’s not considered a real science, more like pseudo-science that’s not normally respected in court - power of suggestion and all, false memory implants and whatnot.
 
Or maybe it does have at least therapeutic value, I don’t know. Regardless on this site I haven’t seen very many consensual hypnosis scenarios depicted in art at all, everything I’ve seen with the tag was some kind of fetish like this.

The tags are based off actual hypnosis vs mind control. Real hypnosis requires the hypnotist to be trusted by their target.

Then I guess the artist is just as wrong but that rule doesn’t make sense to me. Hypnosis is an extremely common trope in TV shows/cartoons and it’s usually not consensual. It basically is used as a mind-control scenario in basically every place I’ve seen it.

Look at the details for the tags. Hypnosis and Mind Control state they cannot be used on the same image. King Sombra’s magic is, by canon, mind control (non-consensual).

the artist literally says this is the hypno version. The tag is completely valid.
