Police are essentially and ultimately protectors of the system and the elites. That is why they will ignore violent mobs and criminals and go after easy targets to meet their quotas. Fulfilling your quota by pulling over a soccer mom for forgetting her turn signal is easier than pulling over a black guy who ran the red light and risk getting fired or even going to prison if you’re forced to shoot or taze him as he is much more likely to be belligerent with you.

I’d have a different opinion of American police if they actually focused on getting violent criminals and gangsters off the street instead of only ever harassing and fining tax paying citizens that aren’t causing problems.
