Anyway, random headcanon time.
For some reason i see a Octavia as a Smile figure.
Vinyl = Sabitsuki, Octavia = Smile.
I guess to put it in a simpler form is I see it being that Vinyl and Octavia used to be close friends when they were younger. But something made one of them to turn on each other.
Who knows? Maybe Octavia did something to Vinyl’s eye resulting in her hiding them with shades.
