Wild Manes Content

Wild Manes art will be allowed, but be ‘spoilered’ in the site’s main default filters when not a crossover or style emulation (using complex filters). Please add those tags where appropriate.

Users with custom filters should update their filters to fit their preferences if needed. Those using a Default filter, including ‘Everything’, that disagree with the settings should consider using a custom filter.

Screencaps (including show clips, edited screencaps, “memes”…) and non-art (official merch, toys, posters…), however will be banned/deleted, barring anything already uploaded.

Note that there will be no “site support” for things like canon character names, spoilers, episode tags, etc.

The default art style and much of the theme is fairly similar to some of MLP’s iterations, leading to fanart of the two being easily confused (compare >>3218837 and >>3396060).

Simply put, trying to judge what is “valid MLP” and what isn’t would take time and be prone to error. We’d rather let some images in that aren’t technically MLP than risk harming valid content.

why no screencaps

What’s the point of no screencaps when the art is already spoilered? Wouldn’t it be better to do the same with screencaps too?

I’m a little lost. What came to mind for a moment was the bride and the ugly ass groom. But this is obviously not that, nor is it absurdly messy manes. There some kind of specific tag/spoiler/content I/we should know about?

Probably b/c they’d consider screencaps to be spammy low-effort uploads. Similar rationale to frequency restrictions on AI art.

Probably because that was under Lauren Faust’s domain on top of it being the honorary Fighting Is Magic game that couldn’t be made.

If Wild Manes artwork is allowed (under a filter) then Filly Funtasia art should be allowed too.

Eh. Wild Manes at a glance could pass for MLP content, which as the mods note would require too much hands-on effort to sift through the hair-splitting.

…but then MYM came along and now Filly Funtasia looks like a cheap version of that.

A crossover could be between Wild Manes and something non-MLP, eg. Wild Manes and Star Wars - even though the crossover tag says it’s for crossovers with MLP, I imagine keeping it restricted to that will be an uphill battle. Similarly, a style emulation could be an unrelated 3rd party, like Invader Zim. Doesn’t the filter need to ensure it’s an MLP crossover or style?

(assuming names of Wild Manes episodes, and the wild manes tag itself, won’t get categorized as content-official)
