If only. If it were me, I’d do it Cozy fell coz Celeztia turn a blind eye to some war. Her parent’s death was among many casualities. Why? Coz Celeztia felt it best to keep from interfering with other universes, and also afraid they;d learn her secret of LUna being Midnight. A rash error which backfire with the fall of Cozy’s hometown. Cozy felt it be better if she leads; only to fall to darkness due to becoming drunk with power. But Twylight shows her alicons can be trusting.

exactly, being trapped in suspended animation for a time is a mercy compared to what most of the other Proto-Queens in the Hive were doing: One Proto-Queen ritualistically sacrificed 1/3 of her Clutch to coerce the rest into serving her, another Proto-Queen whose Clutch had fed off of Hatred instead of Love regularly committed warcrimes and atrocities to bask in the feeling of agony that the feuding kingdoms partook in, a third was so demented and insane that she would drain the protoplasm of the first ten of her nymphs hatched each day and compelled the rest of her clutch to do the same.

The only reason why they aren’t talked about or remembered is because Chrysalis upon ascending to the position of Queen through a bloody civil war had all but decimated the Hive excluding a small number of her Clutch and of her Chosen Beloved Pharynx to swear an oath of silence to prevent the future generations of their Hive from following down the same atrocities that her Sisters and Mother had allowed to happen. What little is indeed said about other Changelings such as Mirage (known back then as “Mirage the Ravage-Wraith”: Who led her Hives’ Infiltrator Caste into battle hundreds of times and personally destroyed three kingdoms and their entire populations by utilizing the Primal Ravager Form to decimate cities and villages; leaving only a trail of bloodshed and echoes in their wake) was done intentionally by Chrysalis and Pharynx to spare future generations including their daughter, their Nymph Ocellus from the horrible realization that all of this was done to protect her; to destroy every trace of their past so that Ocellus could live in the future.
 
The only ones kept out of the loop on this was Thorax, who was a part of the Breeding Caste: an all-Male Changeling Caste that is kept secluded away from the rest of the Hive and in close proximity to the Queens’ central chambers which are only allowed to be visited by the Queen and Proto-Queens one at a time, due to the importance of the Breeding Males for providing future generations of the Hive; the Breeding Caste are largely ignorant of the world beyond the Hive and are unaware of any conflicts or in-fighting that is promoted between the various Castes by the Queen to maintain power in the Hive and to deal with potential rivals among her Daughters. Thorax was taken into the Breeding Caste at a young age; far too young to remember his and Pharynxs’ “mother” Proto-Queen Mirage, and after Chrysalis’ coup had only assumed that Chrysalis’ was the Changeling that had laid his egg.

I’d like to think that there is a deeper reason behind her hatred for Starlight above all else. Changeling Culture from the time before Chrysalis had assumed control was brutal and efficient, with a single Queen ruling over the Hive, flocked by a group of Proto-Queens; the only other Changelings that were fertile and could produce eggs. Changelings are split into many Castes, with the Queens, Proto-Queens and Breeding Males being the only ones in the entire species to be fertile. Normally, new Generations of Changelings for the Hive have their eggs lain and tended to by the Minders Caste or by the Proto-Queen that watches over the Minders Caste until the Grub has hatched and proven their maturity to be placed into their more permanent role into the other Castes. To create a Proto-Queen or Breeding Male, the Queen has to halt the development process of the Egg by keeping the Egg stuck inside of a “womb-like” pouch located inside of the oviduct that the Egg hatches inside of, at which point the Queen will then give what is essentially a live birth, the resulting Proto-Queen or Breeding Male will be highly coveted and thus needs to be secreted away until such a time that they have reached physical maturity to assume their duties for the Hive.  
There is one particular rule regarding Proto-Queens, and that rule is a Proto-Queen can never create their own Proto-Queen Egg, it would be seen as a direct challenge between the Proto-Queen directed at her Queen for the right of succession that results in death usually: either the offending Proto-Queen dies and has her child replace her in the Hive, the child is killed by the Proto-Queen, or even rarely; the Proto-Queen successfully overthrows her Queen and becomes the new Queen over the Hive. It was this option that then Proto-Queen Chrysalis of the Minder Caste took for herself.
 
In those times, Proto-Queen Chrysalis was considered to be the softest and kindest out of all her sisters in the Proto-Queen Caste, whereas Others killed their prisoners and intentionally destroyed their food supplies in shows of power, Chrysalis was more patient qnd subtle, seeking to keep her prey cocooned and kept away safely. In many respects, Chryalis was the Fluttershy of Changeling Culture, and she despised her mother with a passion. The only other who had known about Cbrysalis was her Chosen Mate, Pharynx.

It did make me a bit sad to realize the last major Starlight & Trixie episode focused on conflict between them… again.  
On the other hand, they are both very entertaining about it,  
but more importantly, both very capable of forgiveness and understanding once the drama is done.  
Plus they both know what it’s like to be redeemed villains.

I think the Trixie/Starlight dynamic is on even hoofing. Trixie needs to stop being so self-centered while Starlight needs to stop trying so hard, slow down and appreciate Trixie more. Twilight always managed to spend time with her friends. The way she’s going Starlight’s going to really turn into Twilight 2.0 and spend more time stressing than becoming a better marefriend.

Agree. It was facewinghoof-worthy at first but did get better. I do like her and think they’ve done a good job of making her regretful and willing to be a better pony. I honestly don’t mind where they have her going in the last season and think she’s turned into the best redemptive arc they’ve done since Luna. The fact is becoming a better person isn’t easy. It’s going to be messy and people are going to fuck up again and again. Aside from a few major blunders she’s done good (though she needs to treat Trixie a little better).

I found the start of the transition from evil bitch to awkward student incredibly awkward at first,  
but I think it got better towards the end of season 6. Hell, I posted one of the more popular starlight drama posts shortly after the s5 finale, now she’s my fave mlp character, go figure.

For me, Starlight’s episodes in season 6 are among the best of the series.

Starlight really didn’t have any excuse nor did the Mane 6 harm her in any fashion. She got what was coming to her and was lucky the intent didn’t count because she literally did wipe out an entire. Either by making it a wasteland or causing it to cease to be via Twilight altering the past. That’s the thing-when Twilight did that she made herself just as guilty if not moreso.
 
Timelines are tricky things to write. It’s part of why season 6 was the least good season imo. Starlight’s introduction was one blunder after another. Fortunately season 7 alleviated a lot of it. I actually kind of like her now but yeah-she’s got good reason to live with a little remorse.
