Probably pinched the inner/bottom bit, and the “blush” was just blobbed over the entire thing as it’s easier and better looking than having it suddenly stop. Show doesn’t put too much emphasis on hoof anatomy (or anatomy in general).

The hard, outer semi-ring part, no. The inner bit, bottom and back, yes, is soft flesh.
