Fanart of my favourite characters from the amazing comic Friendship Grows, by the equally amazing Loryska ! Clarabelle the best cinnamon roll, and Mezzanine who hasn’t had as much screen time, but is still the favourite queen of snark. They are both absolutely wonderful, and just I love them? So much?? I know they’re note exactly best friends in the comic as of me writing this, but… this is now my petition, Clara-Mezz bffs as endgame. Plz loryska.
 
Nah, seriously though; they’re really fun characters and the comic is very enganging and enjoyable so far, and I can’t wait to read more of it!! :D …Regardless of the friendship status of these two ;P
 

 
Misc notes:  
-I’ve been planning on drawing fanart for Friendship Grows for a long long time now, but have always been distracted by other stuff I just have to finish first. Then Lory posted such cute character ref sheets, and I just had to draw this right now.  
-I noticed Mezzanine always has claws, but I wasn’t sure if they’re showing her slight hostility in the scenes, or a nod to a cheetah’s non-retractable claws? So I just gave her little blunt cheetah-claws, because I thought it was cute :)  
-Clarabelle’s mane and tail is so nice and cute and floof, and I love it? And I don’t think I made it justice here, cause I feel I gave her too small curls. I’ve tried to re-draw it several times though, and this is as close as I appear to get. Oh, well, Clara’s adorable enough that she’s cute even drawn slightly off-model lol  
-I’m not used to drawing humanoids. So the reason Mezzanine’s holding a cup is because I had no idea what to do with her hands. One can… gesticulate, yes, I’ll draw her talking so that’ll work. And the other… uh….she’s holding a cup in this scene, I’ll just give her another cup to occupy a hand. Perfect.  
-Spots are so much fun to draw  
-Not sure I got their relative sizes completely right; in most scenes I recall they’re either not both shown full-body, or Mezzanine’s laying down.
